Short Term courses (4-18 weeks)

Short courses from 4 to 18 weeks are available at Dalian University of Technology. You can relax and enjoy a university environment and campus sporting facilties and travel easily to the city centre to discover what life is like in a dynamic Chinese city.

Short Term students can start class on any Monday, apart from absolute beginners who should aim to start at the beginning of either the spring or autumn semesters or the start of the summer program. The minimum length for a course is 4 weeks. It may take a week to settle but if you study hard and make good use of opportunities to use your Chinese, you should, after 3-4 weeks, notice a significant improvement. You will join be given a language test after you arrive and recommended which class to join.

Short term students can be accommodated either in campus hostel accommodation or homestay with a Chinese family. Further details of these are in the accommdation section of our website.

The cost of a standard short term course is US $350/week for the first 4 weeks. After 4 weeks the cost is US $300 per additional week. This covers tuition, accommodation in a campus hostel, books, placement test, airport pick-up and assistance in obtaining a suitable visa.
