Long Term courses

Long term Chinese language courses are available at Dalian University of Technology, Dalian Maritime University. An academic semester contains 18 or 19 weeks of study and at all universities students study 22 hours of Chinese language class a week. Long term programmes are geared towards taking the HSK exam with emphasis on rapidly increading vocabulary and correct use of Chinese grammar. Additionally, students can attend weekly HSK preparation lectures for free.

While studying in Dalian, students can make good use of the Chinese in China social/cultural activites which will take place several times each semester and we will also organise 3 excursions to other cities each semester. You can explore the city and beyond, see some interesting Chinese sights and meet new friends. The universities themselves also run fortnightly student taster activities such as Tai-Chi or calligraphy.

For programmes in Dalian there are several accommodation options available.

We are no longer taking long term study applications for the 2008 - 2009 academic year. If you would like to join a university class at Dalian University of Technology as part of the autumn semester then we can help you to do this as a short term study program. Non-beginners can join the semester up until June 1st, 2009. Please contact info@chinese-in-china.com for further details. This does not refer to the summer courses starting in July 2009 or the 2009-2010 academic year starting on August 31st 2009. All applications welcome.

Dalian Maritime University: August 31st 2009 - January 15th 2010

Spring 2010:

Dalian Maritime University: February 27th 2010 - July 16th 2010.
Dalian University of Technology: February 27th 2010 - July 16th 2010.

The course cost includes: tuition, accommodation (apart from tuition only package), airport pick-up, 2 day orientation programme, placement test, 'Before you go' assistance including visa assistance, welcome package, hosts for social/cultural activities and excursions to other cities,  24 hour student emergency hotline, English language course transcript (on request).

Note - fees not included in the programme fee include: visa application fee (US $50-$100 depending on the type of visa you are applying for), for students in shared or private apartments you do need to pay your own water and electricity bills for these you will need to budget US $12 - $15 a month.

Our programme prices are aimed to offer a high level of service at a good value price. We have arrived at theise prices by considering the true cost of language study in China and the services students value.
