Short Term
If you wish to study for less than one academic semester then we can arrange for a short course at Dalian University of Technology. You can enjoy a university environment and campus sporting facilities and travel easily to the centre location to discover what life is like in a Chinese city.
If you wish to make a rapid advance in your Chinese in a relatively short space of time, or have specific technical language needs, we can arrange afternoon tutorials in either small groups or 1 to 1 with a Chinese teacher or an appropriate Chinese postgraduate student.
The minimum time for a course is 4 weeks. It may take one week to settle but after 3-4 weeks if you study hard and make use of opportunities to use your Chinese then you should notice a significant improvement. The maximum time for a course of this type is 18 weeks.
Each semester we run several social/cultural activities and 2 or 3 excursions to places of interest in North East China. If you are studying on a short term program you will be most welcome to join these and meet some of our long term students. The hosts for these are provided free of charge but the actual cost of the activity you need to pay for.
The cost of a standard short term course is US $350 per week for the first 4 weeks. Each additional week is then US $300 per week. This covers tuition, accommodation in a campus hostel, books, placement test, airport pick-up and assistance in obtaining a suitable visa. Specialist courses can be provided to meet professional or corporate need by arrangement.
