Long Term
Chinese-in-China's long term study programmes can offer you 1, 2 or more semesters study while living in the 
beautiful coastal city of Dalian. A thriving modern city which mixes Chinese teahouses with Starbucks and techno bars, it is also a highly affordable option as costs in Dalian are relatively lower than Beijing or Shanghai.
You will receive 22 hours a week of language training from Mon. to Fri (for technical, specific language needs see below). On arrival you will receive a welcome package and 2 day orientation. Throughout your stay you will be able to attend the Chinese-in-China weekly social/cultural activities and monthly excursions.
Dalian is a city of choices. In Dalian you will find all the modern well known amenities if you desire them. Starbucks, McDonalds, lively bars and nightclubs, Wall-Mart, Warner Bros Cinemas, bowling alleys and much more are present. Almost all foods or cosmetics that you can buy in a western country can be bought at one of several hypermarkets around the city. However, this modern dynamic city is less ‘westernised’ than Beijing or Shanghai. Chinese culture prevails and whilst there are a few thousand foreigners living in Dalian it is a tiny number against the 5 million Chinese people living there. As such you will be more immersed in the Chinese language and way of life and more likely to make friends with Chinese people.
Intensive Study
If you wish to make faster progress or have individual/professional/technical specific language needs you may benefit from several hours of extra tuition a week. On assessing your progress or specific area of need we can arrange extra small group or 1 to 1 training with either an appropriate Chinese postgraduate student or Chinese teacher.
For long term study you have a choice of two study centres. Dalian University of Technology is Dalian's premier university, ranked 17th in all of China (China has about 1000 Universities) with excellent sporting factilites and several hundered Chinese language students each semester. Dalian Maritime University, offers an outstanding study experience and value for money with class size limited to a maximum of 12 students.
Accommodation options
Long term students have a choice of accommodation types. Many students choose to live in student apartments close to campus. Apartments used by Chinese in China are all of a western standard with private bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, bathroom, and are fully furnished including a TV and DVD player. All apartments also have cable internet access. Also popular with language students is on campus hostel accommodation which offer a social living atmosphere with convenient access to campus language classrooms and sports facilities. For intermediate or advanced level students Chinese in China can also arrange 'Homestay' accommodation. Students can live with a suitable Chinese family while they study with a higher level Chinese language immersion and learn much about modern Chinese culture and family lifestyle.
