Social/Cultural Activities
While learning Chinese in Dalian, we will help you to enjoy your social life and experience some of China’s rich and colourful culture and society. For long term students we arrange an activity every two weeks and these are usually accompanied by a Chinese teacher and several local students from either Dalian Maritime University or Dalian University of Technology.
The social activities we run are:
- An afternoon's introduction to Chinese Massage
- Bowling competition
- Trip to golf driving range
- Introduction to Chinese Calligraphy
- Trip to karaoke bar
- Table tennis tournament
- Chinese cooking
- Trip to Dalian Marine Park
- Day outing to Dalian beer festival
- 5 aside football/volleyball tournament
- Barbeque at the beach
- Trip to Dalian History Museum
- Bungee jumping
- Bejing Opera (performed at Dalian Grand Theatre)
- Lecture series on Living and Working in China

The restaurants we will go to include:

Chinese-in-China will provide hosts to take you through the afternoon’s activities but the cost of the activity and meal you need to pay for yourself. We will however help you to get cheaper rates through group bookings.
For summer intensive study we arrange more frequent activities so that students can get out and enjoy the city during their 4, 5 or 6 week program. Please see our 'Summer 2008 Intensive' page for further details.
