Living with a Host family "Homestay"
An ideal environment for greater immersion in Chinese Language, this offers a window on a local Chinese family lifestyle. Homestay can be a great way to gain daily extra Chinese language practice. The professional host families live in comfortable apartments where you will be provided with your own private room and treated as a respected guest. These families are interested in foreign cultures and have much to share on Chinese culture. This is of most benefit to intermediate level students where you can really start to "use" your Chinese. (Home stay is only recommended for the most tenacious of absolute beginners as the students’ limited vocabulary can make communication difficult).

- In most host families the parents are professors at one of the partner universities
- Host family does laundry for the student once a week
- If you are not satisfied with your host family then you can change once free of charge
- Breakfast and dinner provided each day
